WWE is officially back on a Nintendo consoleand its been a long time coming.
During Wednesdays Nintendo Direct, it was confirmed that WWE 2K25 will be launching on the brand-new Nintendo Switch 2, marking the franchises first appearance on a Nintendo system since WWE 2K18 in 2017. For longtime fans whove been waiting for a proper return, this one hits hard.
Nintendo also dropped all the juicy details about the upcoming Switch 2, and theres a lot to take in. The new console hits shelves on June 5, 2025, and it sticks with the hybrid design fans loved from the originalbut with some serious upgrades.
It features a larger 7.9-inch 1080p LCD screen and a 120Hz refresh rate for ultra-smooth visuals. That means whether youre hitting a frog splash off the top rope or running down the ramp at WrestleMania, its going to look sharp.
The Joy-Con controllers have been completely reworked. They now attach magnetically and have a new ergonomic feel, but the real surprise is that they can function like a computer mouse. That opens up some wild gameplay possibilities. Theres also a brand-new C button that activates GameChat, so now you can talk smack in real time during online matches.
Storage got a big bump too256GB of internal space means youll have room for more games and media without needing to juggle memory cards. And if youre playing on the big screen, the new dock supports 4K output. Yes, that means youll be able to see every sweat drop on Roman Reigns in ultra-crisp detail.
Nintendo isnt keeping it all under wraps, either. Starting this month, fans will be able to get their hands on the Switch 2 early through special Switch 2 Experience events in Los Angeles, New York, London, and Paris. Its the perfect way to test-drive those upgrades and see just how WWE 2K25 holds up on the next-gen handheld.
The return of WWE to Nintendos platform just adds another layer of hype to the Switch 2s rollout. With better graphics, smarter controls, and new ways to connect with friends, this could be a game-changer for both casual and hardcore players alike.
