
The April 2 episode of AEW Dynamite rolled through the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois. They had a big show for fans, and that included introducing another edition of the Owen Hart Foundation tournament.
The Owen Hart Foundation has been a part of AEW for years now. They have held a yearly tournament, one for the men and another for the women. The winners of those tournaments not only get a shot at their respective top titles, but they also get a trophy and their names are etched in history.
The winners will be determined in a final match at Double or Nothing. Whoever walks away with the victory there will go on to All In Texas for a title shot.
The brackets were announced this week during Dynamite, and fans have a lot of action to look forward to. There are also some big matches coming in the round-robin tournament.
The mens bracket has Will Ospreay, Kevin Knight, Brody King and Takeshita on one side. The other side has Mark Briscoe, Kyle Fletcher, Hangman Page, and a wild card slot.
One side of the womens brackets has Jamie Hayter, Billie Starkz, Thunder Rosa, and Kris Statlander. The other has Mercedes Mone, Harley Cameron, Athena, and Julia Hart.
Past winners of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament are a star-studded list. In the mens Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, Adam Cole won in 2022 by defeating Samoa Joe in the final. Ricky Starks claimed victory in 2023 by defeating CM Punk. In 2024, Bryan Danielson defeated Hangman Adam Page in the final and earned a match for the AEW World Championship at All In London.
In the womens tournament, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. won in 2022 by defeating Ruby Soho. Willow Nightingale won in 2023, also defeating Ruby Soho in the final. In 2024, Mariah May defeated Willow Nightingale and earned a match for the AEW Womens World Championship at All In London.
