Three-time Masters champion, Phil Mickelson is ready to give his best at this year's Masters edition, eager to make history. The experienced golfer has done the same things many times in his career, but his age does not give many people optimism that he can take an important step.

Although most talk about the chances of golfers at this year's edition, golf experts and some of the fans put the emphasis on the condition of the golf course, considering the hurricane that happened in September of last year, when Augusta National was badly damaged.

However, Fred Ridley, president of Augusta National calmed the tensions and fears, saying that the golf course is in spectacular condition.

Although he admits that they had some damage, Fred stresses that the condition of the golf course is as great as ever.

Phil Mickelson, the man who left a lasting mark on this competition, winning even three times, shared his emotions regarding this year's edition, but primarily the golf course. The American golfer was amazed by the reaction of the workers at Augusta National after he and his co-supervisor advised them to go to the 11th hole.

"There were a number of workers piling in, racing to this tree, firing up the chain saws and cutting this thing down," Mickelson said, as quoted by ESPN.

"By the time I walk off of 11 green, all the limbs of the tree have been cut off and put on the back of these carts."

Phil Mickelson is delighted with the workers

The experienced golfer was amazed by the reaction of the workers who showed how knowledgeable they are, but primarily fast. Solving the problems so quickly is really commendable, and it is also the best indicator of how focused the organizers and managers of this tournament are so that the conditions are perfect.

According to many, this is the greatest tournament in golf, and it is to be expected that the organizers pay attention to every detail before the start of the tournament.

"You couldn't tell two days later this had happened," Mickelson said.

"I just thought, 'If that was my home course, that tree would still be there, like, three weeks later,' and they had this thing removed. It was one of the most impressive things I had seen -- their ability to handle stuff like that. I'm sure the course is going to be in great shape."
