This year's edition of the Masters arouses the interest of the public just like every year until now. The greatest attention will certainly be directed towards Rory McIlroy, the golfer who is looking to win the Majors that he lacks in CW. Although the pressure from the media and the public is unbearable before the start of each Masters, Rory seems to be significantly superior and calmer this season.
Well-known analysts from the world of golf gave their opinion on this situation, sharing their expectations regarding McIlroy.
Rich Lerner put special emphasis on the eventual victory of the Northern Irishman, saying how big a deal it would be for the world of golf.
"If Rory does win, I think this Masters would be in the same historical neighborhood as 1986 [Jack Nicklaus], 1997 [Tiger Woods], and 2019 [Tiger Woods]. Rory would be, in my estimation, the first true legend of the post-Tiger Woods era, becoming the sixth to have won a Career Grand Slam.

There have been great players, obviously, in the post-Tiger era, Brooks [Koepka], Scottie [Scheffler] and Dustin Johnson, maybe Xander Schauffele is on his way there. But Rory would be a legend of a different stripe..."- he said, as quoted by Golf Monthly.

Golf fans are eagerly awaiting this year's Masters, aware that there are many quality golfers who can make an important step in this Major. Although the bookmakers give the best chances to Scottie Scheffler, right after him is Rory McIlroy, a golfer who has been looking to win this tournament for years.
Lerner points out that Rory is a golfer who has matured a lot in recent years, and it seems that he has a good foundation to make history in this tournament.
"It doesnt mean hes going to win. It just means hes much better equipped. Hes all grown up now. Just a simple way to say it. I think Rory has it together now in a way that I dont think we could have said before."- he said.
