Dont expect anyone to be crowned royalty in WWE this yearat least not through a tournament.

According to WrestleVotes Radio, as of now, the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments are not scheduled to take place in 2025. That doesnt mean the tournaments are scrapped permanently, but theyre currently off WWEs internal schedule, which is a big shift considering last years international push.

The 2024 King and Queen of the Ring event took place on May 25 at the Jeddah Super Dome in Saudi Arabia. It was WWEs first time holding the classic tournament event outside of the United States and featured both the mens and womens finals. Gunther defeated Randy Orton to win the King of the Ring crown, while Nia Jax secured her Queen of the Ring victory over Lyra Valkyria.

WWE used the rebranded format to not only crown royalty but also grant each winner a world title shot at SummerSlam. The event was considered a major milestone in WWEs ongoing partnership with Saudi Arabia as part of the countrys Vision 2030 initiative.

Despite that success, WWE appears to be shifting priorities for 2025. Theres no word yet on if the event could be slotted into a later date or evolve into another format, but for now, the tournament is off the table.
