Charlotte Flair is finally opening up about her painful divorce from Andrade El Idoloand the WWE Royal Rumble winner didnt hold back about how deeply it affected her both personally and professionally.
In a tearful sit-down with Sherri Shepherd on the Sherri show, Flairreal name Ashley Fliehrrevealed just how difficult the split was while also battling a brutal injury. Shepherd asked how she handled her breakup with Andrade while trying to rehab her torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus. Her response was blunt.
I didnt, she said, before pausing to gather herself. I felt like I was failing at my job. I felt like I was failing at my personal life.
After composing herself, she explained how deeply the decision weighed on her. When I made the decision to file for divorce, she said, the only thing I kept thinking was I just didnt want anyone to know. Flair added, Oh, my gosh, I have failed again.
Flair and Andradereal name Manuel Alfonso Andrade Oropezabegan dating in 2019. They got engaged in 2020 and tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Mexico in 2022. By June 2024, Charlotte filed for divorce, and it was finalized by October.
While the couple never publicly addressed the reason for their split, fans had long speculated something was wrong. Flair stopped posting photos of Andrade on social media, and the two unfollowed each other in 2023. Even Ric Flair unfollowed Andrade, and Charlotte removed the diamond ring emoji from her biofueling months of speculation before the official news broke.
Adding to the emotional toll was her career-threatening injury suffered during a match against Asuka in December 2023. The injury forced her out of action for over a year, sidelining one of WWEs biggest stars. But she made a shocking return at the 2025 Womens Royal Rumble, not only competing but winning the match and securing her ticket to WrestleMania 41.
Despite the career resurgence, the emotional weight of the divorce still lingered. Days after winning the Royal Rumble, my divorce became public, and I went into a dark place again, Flair said.
But shes turning the cornerand she made it clear that shes proud of how far shes come. This is my biggest comeback yet, she told Sherri.
Now back in the title picture and possibly on track for another championship run at WrestleMania, Charlotte Flair is showing that heartbreak doesnt have to define youit can fuel you.
