Safe to say Jessica Pegula has no regrets over stealing Aryna Sabalenka's drink in a viral Miami Open moment as the world No. 4 hilariously suggested that she also needed to "take something" from the Belarusian after losing yet another final to the same opponent.

On Saturday, the American tennis star fell short in her bid to secure the Miami title staying home after the world No. 1 handed her a 7-5 6-2 defeat in the final. The home favorite was also beaten by the Belarusian in last year's Cincinnati and US Open finals.

After the Miami final, Sabalenka was on Tennis Channel live and she had her signature Marg-Aryna in front of her when Pegula snuck behind - took a sip of the drink - and ran away with the cocktail. The 26-year-old was left laughing but she was also quickly provided with another drink.

Pegula: Sabalenka is goofy, I thought it'd be fitting to do something like that... The drink wasn't bad

After crushing world No. 215 Iryna Shymanovich in her first clay match of the year, the world No. 4 was back on Tennis Channel's desk. To no one's surprise, she was asked about the weekend's viral moment.

I had to take something from her. Shes taken three first-place trophies from me like come on. I can take her Margarita. Enough of her girl chunky, her Margarita, winning every match like common. This is ridiculous. But I know shes also very outgoing and goofy, so I thought like it fit the moment, Pegula said.

The Miami runner-up also remarked that the drink was quite tasty.

Wasnt bad, had a nice tahini salt rim, that was nice, I enjoyed that, Pegula cheekily said.
