Cody Rhodes ability to draw fans has played a major role in his journey to becoming theUndisputed WWE Champion. He already has a ton of history with The Rock, and The Great One even has a win over Rhodes right now. That being said, it appears Rhodes has now mentioned two matches that he feels The Rock definitely needs to have before it ends his career.
While speaking on Pardon My Take, Cody Rhodes was asked if a one-on-one match with The Rock could happen in the future, especially since The Rock had pinned him last year at WrestleMania 40.
Rhodes admitted that as a competitive and egocentric person, he wanted to get his win back. He believed The Rock was due for more than one match and hoped to be included in one of them. While acknowledging The Rocks busy schedule, Rhodes pointed out that he remains heavily involved with WWE.
Rhodes also stated that he felt The Rock had two matches he needed to do, though he stated he wasnt trying to pressure anyone. He revealed interest in seeing a potential match between The Rock and his cousin Roman Reigns, noting that it could end up being the greatest match that never happens due to timing. On top of that, Rhodes believed his own story with The Rock still needed to be completed, leaving the door open for a future match.
Cody Rhodes is currently set to defend his WWE Undisputed Championship against John Cena at WrestleMania 41, but The Rock has been absent since Cena turned heel on Rhodes at Elimination Chamber last month.
With Rhodes openly challenging The Rock and still hinting at a dream match with Roman Reigns, fans are waiting to see if WWE will eventually make one of these big matches happen somewhere down the line as theres no guarantee either match will happen.
Do you agree with Cody Rhodes that The Rock needs to have matches with Roman Reigns and himself before retiring? Which one would you rather see first? Let us know in the comments below!
