Kevin Owens and Randy Orton are still officially booked for a major showdown at WrestleMania 41but uncertainty is looming heading into tonights SmackDown. Owens, who was previously reported to be dealing with an undisclosed injury, may have spoken too soon about his status.

The match, set to culminate a heated feud dating back to late 2024, was called into question when reports surfaced that Owens had no clear timetable for recovery. While WWE has reportedly lined up backup options for Orton, Cory Hayes added fuel to the speculation by tweeting: Kevin Owens WrestleMania status is expected to be addressed on TV tonight on #SmackDown.

And that brings us to Owens own wordsrecorded before the new concerns. In a sit-down with Cousin Sal on Against All Odds that was taped on April 1, Owens sounded confident and ready to go.

Wrestlers in general react weirdly to things that normal people would just call the authorities for, Owens joked. We just decide to make it way worse and thats what were going to do at WrestleMania.

He added, Its actually a real thrill to be at WrestleMania against Randy Orton, a guy I looked up to and watched for so long. Its just too bad Im gonna have to put him in a wheelchair there.

Despite his confidence in the pre-recorded interview, tonights SmackDown is expected to be the moment WWE finally addresses whether the match is still on. With WrestleMania just over two weeks away, fans wont have to wait long to find out if KO will make it to the ringor if Ortons opponent is about to change.
