
Just hours before the April 4th episode of WWE SmackDown goes live, WWE dropped a surprise bombshell on social mediaand tag team wrestling fans are eating it up.
SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis appeared in a new video announcing that DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) will face The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) in a number one contender match for the WWE Tag Team Titles. The winner will earn a title shot, putting major stakes on the line just one week before WrestleMania 41.
This unexpected addition instantly raises the stakes for tonights episode, already loaded with massive segments and matches. Rey Fenix is set to make his WWE in-ring debut, and fans are eager to see if he confronts Andrade to kick off their rumored feud.
Also on the card is a Last Man Standing match between Braun Strowman and Jacob Fatu, a brutal grudge match following Fatus interference last week. Naomi will also face B-Fab in a singles match after their backstage blowup, and CM Punk is set to confront Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins ahead of their WrestleMania triple threat clash.
