Dominik Mysterio isnt holding anything back when it comes to his legendary father, Rey Mysterioand his latest shots might be the most brutal yet.
In a recent interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, the WWE star stayed firmly in character and took aim at Reys iconic mask, claiming its not about lucha traditionits about hiding his face.
I unfortunately lived with this man for 15+ years, Dominik said. Hes a deadbeat. Hes a terrible person. Hes not good. Hes ugly. Thats why he has to wear a mask. He has no hair.
For context, Rey Mysterio was famously unmasked during WCW SuperBrawl IX in 1999 after losing a tag team match with Konnan against Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. When he debuted in WWE in 2002, he brought the mask backand never looked back. Its been a signature part of his identity ever since, rooted in rich lucha libre tradition.
But Dominik couldnt care less about history or heritage. He doubled down, even dragging the interviewer into the mix: You guys are about the same height, so you got that going for you as far as being a fan. You got more hair than him, so that works. Its a little gray, looks like his goatee. I just dont like him. I dont like the guy.
Dominik has been feuding with his father on WWE TV since 2022, but these barbs might be more personal than anything seen in the ring. Whether storyline or not, its clear that Dom is fully committed to playing the disrespectful son roleand doing it better than anyone.
