
WWE SmackDown on April 4 took place at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. The event followed the companys recent run of shows outside the United States, as the lead-up to WrestleMania continued.
This week on WWE SmackDown, DIY took on the Motor City Machine Guns. The match determined the number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles.
The #1 contender tag team match came at fans during the 9:30 PM segment of the blue brands show this week. Both teams were looking to gain an early advantage, and they battled through a commercial break.
The top turnbuckle was torn off on one side during the match, as Johnny Gargano upset a Skull and Bones attempt from MCMG. The match continued as the Motor City Machine Guns kept DIY from closing the deal on them. Then DIY missed a finisher on Chris Sabin, as Alex Shelley got the tag and the pulled off some tandem offense on Tommaso Ciampa.
Sabin was thrown to the outside from the top rope. Ciampa tried to get his foot on the ropes, but the referee stopped the count. Then Ciampa went into the exposed corner and was rolled up for a loss. Now the Motor City Machine Guns are getting a shot at the Street Profits titles.
