Sarayathe former WWE Divas Champion and AEW Womens World Championhas never shied away from her truth. But in a recent interview with The Guardian, the wrestling star formerly known as Paige shared one of the most painful and personal stories of her life: a childhood trauma she carried in silence for years.
According to Saraya, both she and her brother Zak Knight were molested by a guest who stayed in their family home when they were children. The alleged abuser, whose father was in prison at the time, was someone their parents asked them to share a room with. Saraya said the abuse lasted for a long timeand neither she nor Zak spoke about it until years later.
When they finally did, it was an emotional reckoning for both siblings. We both really did sob. I didnt want to talk about it but when we finally did, it was weirdly wonderful because we could validate each other, Saraya said. In the back of my mind, Id always wondered, Did this happen? Am I dreaming it? I was so young. Just saying it out loud helped heal me.
Its not the first time Saraya has spoken out about pain from her past. Shes publicly dealt with everything from career-threatening injuries to alcoholism, and shes also addressed the trauma of having her private videos leaked online. But this latest revelation goes deeper than anything shes shared before.
Despite all the hardships, Sarayas resilience continues to define her. She recently left AEW after a three-year run and is now entering a new chapter of her lifeone where shes clearly working to heal, not just physically, but emotionally.
