Kevin Owens is dealing with more than just a serious neck injuryhes also dealing with betrayal. Just hours before he publicly addressed his WrestleMania 41 status on WWE SmackDown, news of his surgery and removal from the card was already circulating online. And Owens is not hiding how he feels about it.

While speaking to Robbie Fox on My Moms Basement, the former Universal Champion made it clear that the news leaking before he had a chance to speak out himself was deeply frustrating.

It really annoys me, Owens admitted. Actually, I woke up to seeing that it was already leaked, and it really upsets me, especially because I know that whoever leaked it is some office employee that shouldnt know this shit in the first place.

Owens didnt hold back, revealing how he had already warned WWE officials about the possibility of a leak. I told people like, this is gonna leak. Theyre like, No, no, were keeping it tight knit. But then yesterday, obviously some departments had to find out for some reasons. And now someone who shouldnt know this stuff found out, and it went where it shouldnt, and now they took away my right to tell people because now everybody knows already, so I know.

The match originally planned for WrestleMania 41 between Kevin Owens and Randy Orton has now been officially scrapped. Owens confirmed on SmackDown that he will undergo neck surgery, and as much as it hurts to miss out, hes more disappointed in how the news was taken out of his hands.

This was supposed to be a huge moment for Owens, who revealed that this years WrestleMania match was personal for him. This year is going to be me versus Randy Orton at WrestleMania, which is huge to me. I take comfort in knowing that I did it last year. I was in the ring with him at WrestleMania last year, yeah, but this year we wouldnt have had the other annoying guy in it. That would have been nice, but its okay.

Despite everything, Owens is keeping his spirits up and focusing on what lies ahead. Im okay, man. I have a great support system. You know, my family is great. You know, my co-workers are great, everything. It sucks, man, just not getting to wrestle Randy Orton at WrestleMania really sucks.

Still, the hope of a return is strong. At least, you know, I know Ill come back at the very least. I really hope I come back, you know. I guess theresI never take anything for granted in what we do, so who knowsbut pretty likely to come back. And then maybe we could do it eventually.

Kevin Owens gave everything to WWE fans, and to be robbed of the opportunity to speak his truth first is a gut punch. The emotional weight of losing the match and having his story leaked prematurely only adds to an already painful situation.
