The Serb failed to add the 41st Masters 1000 shield to his collection in Miami, falling to Jakub Mensik in two tie breaks in the final. However, the greatest player of all time gathered more records and achievements at the premium ATP events.
By reaching the title clash, Djokovic became the first player with a Masters 1000 final in 18 seasons, leaving Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal on 17 and ruling the chart.
Novak played his first Masters 1000 final in Indian Wells and Miami in 2007 at 19. The Serb became one of the most consistent players at this level in the upcoming years, although he did not reach the title match in 2010.
Djokovic lost three semi-finals that year and missed an opportunity to have 19 consecutive years with a Masters 1000 final! However, he bounced back in 2011 and became the ruler of this series! That year, Novak embraced a 33-1 run, winning five titles from six finals.

Novak has never missed a Masters 1000 final in the next 15 seasons. He has beencollecting them with passion and desire topasshis greatest rivals and notch another record that will take some beating. Djokovic's only Masters 1000 final in 2023 came in Shanghai.
It was enough to extend his streak and match Federer and Nadal with 17 seasons with at least one. Novak will play more Masters 1000 events in 2025, including four or all five in the first half of the year. He suffered an early loss in Indian Wells.
However, the six-time champion bounced back in Miami, defeating five rivals and reaching his 60th Masters 1000 final at 37! Chasing his 100th ATP title, Djokovic experienced a tight 7-6, 7-6 defeat to Jakub Mensik in two hours and three minutes.
The veteran stayed in touch with a teenager as both players claimed 76 points. However, a teenager kept his composure in both tie breaks, clinching the pivotal points and moving over the top. Novak will chase the milestone title in Monte Carlo next week.
