In an interview with the media, Phil shared his impressions regarding the first two days at the last tournament, stressing that it is a great feeling to find yourself again in a situation where you are close to victory.

We enjoy the challenge for sure. We love the times where you can really go low and get it going, but this is a major championship feel, he said, as quoted by Golf By Tour Miss.
Its a major championship difficulty and certainly major championship pins. Its been a really tough test, and you had to fight hard to make pars, and gosh, for me, some places I had to fight hard to make bogeys."
