AEW Dynasty is finally here, and after weeks of concern over sluggish ticket sales, the numbers have flipped in a big way. Just hours ahead of tonights pay-per-view at Temple Universitys Liacouras Center, WrestleTix dropped an update showing that AEW has nearly sold out the eventeclipsing last years total in the process.
According to the April 6 morning report from WrestleTix, Available Tickets: 555. Tickets Distributed: 7,020. Current Setup: 7,575. Thats a huge bump from the previously reported 4,320 tickets just over two weeks ago.
They even noted a section expansion: Section 208 was opened in full. That means AEW not only moved more seats, but also had to increase capacity as demand rose ahead of showtime.
The turnaround is especially impressive when you compare it to last years Dynasty numbers. The 2024 event in St. Louis drew 6,619 fans. With 7,020 tickets now distributed for Philly, AEW has already outdone itselfeven before the first bell rings.
This comes after some early heat from fans and analysts alike, who pointed out the slow pace of ticket movement and the limited number of announced matches. There were also complaints about weak local promotion, with very little advertising seen in the wrestling-rich city of Philadelphia.
Whether it was the final match announcements, late buzz, or simply Philly showing up at the last minute, AEW is walking into tonights show with serious momentum.
