Sting may have retired from in-ring action, but The Icon isnt done showing up for his fansand now hes doing it with a brand-new look.
The WWE Hall of Famer kicked off his 2025 or Never farewell tour on April 5 at Astronomicon in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and fans quickly noticed something very different about the legends appearance.
While Sting did appear in his signature black-and-white face paint as advertised, the rest of his look had undergone a major transformation. Instead of his familiar dark hair and clean-cut facial hair, Sting sported white hair and a black-and-white goatee, giving off a totally new vibe that fans definitely werent expecting.
Earlier this year, Sting confirmed that 2025 would be the final year he makes public appearances in full face paint. He announced a farewell tour that includes over 20 dates across the U.S. and a stop in Scotland. Astronomicon marked the official first appearance of that tour, and he certainly made an impression.
Despite retiring at AEW Revolution in March 2024, Sting is still under contract with AEW. His current role has been described as a licensing and legends deal, allowing him to remain connected to the company without stepping back into the ring.
That AEW contract may complicate his ability to participate in WWE eventsespecially when it comes to the 2025 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. Lex Luger has publicly stated that he wants both Sting and Diamond Dallas Page to induct him, but when asked at the AEW Dynasty 2025 media scrum, Tony Khan admitted that he had not yet discussed the matter with Sting.
It remains unclear if AEW will allow Sting to appear at the ceremony. Given his deep connection with Luger, it would be a powerful full-circle momentif it can happen.
Do you think AEW should let Sting induct Lex Luger into the WWE Hall of Fame? And what do you think of The Icons new look? Sound off in the comments and let us know how you feel about this next chapter in Stings legendary career.
