Phil Mickelson has been a favorite figure on the golf scene for years, but by joining LIV, the experienced golfer seems to have demolished everything he had previously built. Fans were outraged by his moves, especially controversial statements, which some labeled as provocateurs.
Although, now a few years later, the tensions are less, considering that the PGA and LIV are close to the final deal, it seems that Phil still arouses reactions.
Speaking to Fox News, 'Lefty' expressed frustration with the public's reaction to LIV.
I wouldnt say its gone (the tension between tours), Mickelson said.
We are about growing the game globally, whilst the PGA Tour has always been about growing the game nationally. There is a lot of criticism we take in the United States, but if you look globally, the way LIV is received is incredible."

Phil Mickelson talks about current model
An experienced golf figure isn't quite satisfied with the previous model. Phil Mickelson stressed many times so far that he was not happy with the current model, but he notes that LIV made sure to change the previous tradition.
The Saudi-backed Tour officials have decided to completely change the image of this sport, although the fans, especially the older ones, are not really open to it.
The model that professional golf has had is very individualistic, not controlling players schedules, sponsors dont know what theyre buying, TV doesnt know whos going to be playing and fans dont know who theyre going to be watching. Were changing that model entirely. You know whos going to be playing, TV knows what theyre buying, whos competing. So when we move that professionally golf globally throughout the world to other countries that have not had golf at the highest level before, you start to see the interest. And thats what were seeing on a global scale.- he said.
