AEW Dynasty is heating up, and one of the most intense matchups on the card is about to get real personal. Chris Jericho is set to defend his ROH World Title against Bandidobut theres a brutal twist. Bandido is putting his mask on the line in a Title vs. Mask showdown that could change everything.
According to Fightful Select, AEW has been planning to put the ROH Title on Bandido for several months. The idea had been floating for a while, but the match itself wasnt locked in until just recently. Sources said the bout between Jericho and Bandido was up in the air throughout the week leading into Dynasty.
Jericho reportedly pitched the idea himself after unmasking Bandidos brother Gravity at AEW Revolution back in March. That shocking moment turned the heat up on a feud that quietly started at ROH Final Battle last year. Bandido has been gunning for Jericho ever sinceand now hes risking it all.
This isnt just a title match for Bandidoits personal and symbolic. Losing the mask would be a devastating blow for the luchador, both culturally and professionally. But winning the ROH World Title would be the biggest win of his AEW run so far.
Jericho, on the other hand, has no plans to let go of the goldor the spotlight. The veteran wrestler sees this match as a chance to cement his legacy and take something sacred from Bandido. Jericho is aiming to humiliate his opponent on a whole other level.
