AEW Dynasty 2025 took place at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where Tony Khans company delivered a full lineup of matches. The crowd in Philadelphia remained engaged from start to finish, and they were on fire for the trios title match.
The Death Riders defended their trios titles against Rated FTR at Dynasty. Cope and FTR were looking to take a notch out of the Death Riders as they rounded the corner into the summer. After Cope failed to beat Jon Moxley for the AEW World Title twice, he teamed up with FTR for this match.
Fans were ready for this match, as it went on fourth, right after Mercedes Mone toppled Julia Hart in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Fans were ready for action, and they popped in a big way when Adam Copeland made his way to the ring.
Philly fans filled the arena with cheers and they were all behind Rated FTR. The match also included a ton of near falls. At one point, they had double sharpshooters locked in, but it resulted in a slap fight.
Eventually, the Death Riders started using their expert tandem offense, as they hit Dax Harwood with a ton of moves in a row, only to have the pinfall broken up by Cash Wheeler. This match had fans at a fever pitch, and there were several more near falls as they inched closer to the finish.
The action eventually spilled to the outside, as Copeland reversed a whip into the rails from Claudio for a spear. In the end, the Death Riders were able to secure a pinfall, with Wheeler Yuta getting the win.
After the match, Rated FTR posed together, but then it all went wrong. Dax Harwood pulled Copeland in and demolished him. He then went to get a chair and handed it to Cash Wheeler, who pushed Dax instead. Then they nailed their finisher and a piledriver onto the chair on the Rated R Superstar. After that, they hit two conchairtos on the WWE Hall of Famer.
This was quite a shocking moment for FTR to turn on Adam Copeland. Only time will tell what is next for this storyline, but Cope may be out for a bit after this beating.
