Drew McIntyre isnt letting WWE forget one of the most chaotic nights of his careerand apparently, hes still salty with WWE Shop about it.
On the one-year anniversary of WrestleMania 40 Night Two, McIntyre took to X to revisit the wild moment he won the World Heavyweight Championship from Seth Rollins, only to lose it minutes later thanks to CM Punk and a cash-in from Damian Priest.
McIntyre quote tweeted his original post from that night, where he was seen celebrating on top of the announcers table, taunting Punk. What happened next has become one of the most viral WrestleMania clips of the last decade.
Fact: I asked @WWEShop if they could make this into a shirt. But I guess 39m views and 34,000 retweets wasnt enough for them to take notice Either way, happy anniversary, McIntyre wrote.
The tweet was a callback to the infamous sequence where Punk attacked McIntyre moments after the win, leading to Damian Priest cashing in his Money in the Bank contract and snatching the title right out of Drews hands. It all unfolded in less than five minutesand became one of the most replayed clips in WWE history.
The moment drew over 39 million views and remains one of the most dramatic post-match swerves WWE has ever booked. McIntyres sarcastic nod to the anniversary shows that, while he can laugh now, he hasnt forgotten the stingor the lack of merch.
Do you think WWE missed out on not making a shirt for this moment? Should Drew Mc Intyre have gotten his Wrestle Mania merch after all? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
