Matt Mako, known to Bloodsport fans and MMA diehards as Matt Makowski, isnt on the card for Bloodsport XIIIand hes not shy about how he feels.
During a recent interview on The Spotlight, Mako opened up about missing out on the upcoming event and casually dropped a challenge that could send shockwaves through both wrestling and MMA.
Put Phil in there. Just, give me Phil. Lets do it, Mako said when asked who hed want to face. Then, laughing, he added, Im just going to ruin my career and completely shoot on him and go out like that. That would be epic. If he sees this hes going to be so pissed. Who is this nobody threatening me? I just want to wrestle.
That nobody isnt just any guy. Mako is a legitimate 6-2 former MMA fighter with wins in Bellator and EliteXC, and hes faced WWE talents like Julius Creed and Charlie Dempsey at past Bloodsport events. While hes not booked for Bloodsport XIII, he believes he should be.
In my opinion, I should be on every show. I dont know why Im not, Mako admitted. He credits the shows current roster of big namesmany from WWE and STARDOMas a reason why he might be overlooked. Im trying to be realistic. I maybe dont sell tickets right now I dont quite have the name power yet.
Still, hes got confidence that the product is stronger with him on the card: I feel like the show is better with me on it, 100%.
Mako also talked about how his past Bloodsport matchupsparticularly against Charlie Dempsey and Julius Creedcame together last minute, saying That might be the first time an indie person wrestled a WWE person outside of WWE. Im going to keep that.
Now, hes got his sights on CM Punk, whos competed in two UFC fights and has a long history of mixing it up inside and outside the squared circle. A match between the two at Bloodsport would be wildand considering Makos tone, he wouldnt hold anything back.
