WWE World Champion. But no matter what happens, Cena is about to carve his name into WWE history in a way no one else ever has.
According to WWEStats, Cenas upcoming match will mark his tenth championship bout at WrestleMania, more than any other Superstar in the history of the event. Thats rightno one has fought for more titles on WWEs grandest stage than John Cena.
His resume at WrestleMania is loaded with gold. He first won the United States Championship at WrestleMania 20 and again at WrestleMania 31. He captured his first WWE Championship at WrestleMania 21, and added more reigns at WrestleMania 26 and 29. He even took home the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 25.
Not every moment was a win, though. Cena came up short in title matches at WrestleMania 24, 27, and most recently at WrestleMania 39 when he challenged for the U.S. Title. But now, with his match against Cody Rhodes just weeks away, Cena stands on the edge of rewriting history. If he pulls off the win, hell break the all-time record for most World Title reignssurpassing the legendary Ric Flairs 16 reigns.
Love him or hate him, Cenas legacy is already untouchable. WrestleMania 41 just might be the night it becomes untouchable forever.
