WWE World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER isnt just dominating in the ringhes now stirring things up outside of it, too. During a recent appearance on WWE LFG on A&E, GUNTHER didnt hold back when addressing one of The Undertakers own recruits, and the reaction to his comments has gone viral.
While chatting with coaches Mickie James, Bully Ray, Booker T, and The Undertaker, GUNTHER called out Olympic gold medalist Tyra Mae Steele, whos part of Takers team on the show. GUNTHER couldnt believe Steele didnt realize she had that killer instinct, and he didnt hesitate to put some of the blame on her coach. Youre her coachyou shouldve helped her pick that up, GUNTHER told The Undertaker on the show.
The moment caught everyone off guard, including Taker himself. At first, he looked stunnedbut even The Deadman had to admit that GUNTHER had a point.
Now, GUNTHER is doubling down on his remarks. On the Raw Recap podcast with Sam Roberts and Megan Morant, he expanded on why he made the comment and why he stood by it. Well, theres no adrenaline rush with that (doing appearances like WWE LFG). Ive been teaching and coaching people in professional wrestling since I dont know how long. Must be more than 10 years now and I know my experience in that and I know what Im looking for in people, GUNTHER explained.
Then came the line thats got everyone talking: I think in that regard, I have more experience than Taker has himself. I dont think he coached or trained a lot of people and it was my job that day to point out things I see and thats what I did.
With WrestleMania 41 right around the corner, where hes set to defend his title against Jey Uso, GUNTHERs confidence is clearly running highnot just as a competitor, but as a voice of authority in the business.
