Bernhard Langer, an experienced German golfer, won the Green Jacket twice, in 1985 and 1993. Although he was an important figure on the golf scene for years, it seems that the time has come to say goodbye. The German golfer will play his last Masters, a tournament for which he has great memories that he will never forget.
In an interview with the media, the 67-year-old seemed quite emotional, saying that this is the end.
Watching his triumphs at the Masters, Langer could not hide his emotions, visibly shaken that one era has come to an end.
The experienced golfer wanted to play this tournament for the last time in the last year, but the injury that occurred got in the way of his plan. However, Bernhard will play his last Masters this year.

Its very emotional. You can tell already my voice is breaking a bit just realising its going to be my last competitive Masters. After four decades, its going to be bittersweet. I think I knew it was time to call it quits as a player. I wanted to do it last year but I couldnt with my Achilles surgery.
The course is just getting too long and Im getting shorter and shorter and Im hitting hybrids where the other kids are hitting nine irons and eight irons, maybe even wedges. So I knew I wasnt going to be in contention anymore."- he said, as quoted by Mirror.
German golfer on interesting advice
Brernhard reflected on the conversation with the chairman of the club, wondering when it is time for a golfer to end his career.

A few years back I asked the chairman of the club, is there a time limit? Do we age out when were 60? Or what is it? He said, no, you will know when its time to quit. Its totally up to you."
Years later, the German golfer understands the chairman's advice. He believes he is not competitive on this 7,500-plus yard course, given that he is used to playing courses around 7,100. Although he stresses that he can still compete, he is not ready for these distances.
