Xander Schauffele is motivated to make history at this year's Masters. After a phenomenal last season, the 31-year-old golfer is motivated to do the same, but can he still win the Masters? The main two favorites are certainly Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, but it seems that right after them, the majority gives the best chance to Schauffele, a golfer who even won two Majors last year.
In an interview with the media, the American golfer reflected on the chances he has at this year's Masters, feeling that he is ready to make history. His confidence could be the key to success this year as well.
I think I know what Im capable of when Im feeling good, Schauffele said, as quoted by Calgary Herald.
I mean last year I was firing on close to all cylinders at some points, and I sort of saw what that got me and how far that got me.

He inherited confidence from his father
Speaking of confidence, he revealed that he inherited it from his father. In today's sport, you can hardly succeed if you don't have the necessary confidence. Regardless of your golf skills, if you lack confidence, you can hardly do great things.
Schauffele understood this from the first day of his career. Speaking about his father, the world number 3 stresses that his father has always been hard on him, wanting Xaner to be a person who speaks positively to himself.
Self-belief, its sort of been hammered into my brain by my dad. Just always. He was always hard on me but always wanted me to believe in all of the corny positive self-talk.- Schauffele said.
Whether that positive self-talk will be the recipe for success this year is difficult to answer. However, Xander has shown many times in his career that he is ready to play big tournaments and fight for big trophies.
