Xander Schauffele hasn't been mentioned much in the media these days, and it seems as if the 31-year-old has been overlooked. However, how is it possible to overlook a golfer who won two Majors last year and finished No.2 on the OWGR list? Schauffele, on the other hand, is hungry for success and confident that he can do well.
When asked by the media if he can win the green jacket, Xander said:
"Absolutely, yeah."- he said, as quoted by RTE.
Xander Schauffele shares his expectations
The famous golfer has never doubted his qualities, which is also one of the reasons why he is at the very top of the golf scene. The American golfer had an injury that kept him away from the golf courses for some time this season, but he is confident that he can get back on track in the coming period.
Schauffele is not a golfer who has dealt with injuries before, and being away from the golf courses was therefore much harder to accept. However, Xander always looks for positive things, believing that he can find a rhythm and get back on the winning track.
"I think I know what I'm capable of when Im feeling good, when Im not thinking of anything but getting the ball in the hole.
Its been a process to get back to that. I dont have a ton of reps doing it, but theres a lot for me to draw back on, sort of previous accomplishments to sort of let that confidence grow.
Ive never really dealt with injury before, so Ive never really been sidelined.
Im trying to find all the positives to attach to the situation, and me not being hurt before and sitting at home thinking all these thoughts, watching everyone else play golf and sort of fly by me, its been very motivating."-he concluded.
Xander is aware that there will be fierce competition this year. Among the famous names will be Rory McIlroy, to whom the majority certainly gives the best chances, together with Scottie Scheffler.
