Tiger Woods and Steve Williams have been doing magical things on golf courses for years, and their 12-year partnership speaks volumes for how successful they have been. Williams was one of the main figures during Woods' dizzying success on the golf scene, and there are many stories and experiences that Williams has with this well-known golfer.
In a guest appearance on The Loop podcast, Steve revealed if Woods ever bet during the tournament rounds, especially before the start of the Majors tournament. Williams seemed to know how to motivate Tiger, familiar with his mindset and how to get the most out of him.
Ah yeh. When Tiger got into a situation when he was playing in a tournament and perhaps werent going the way he would like them to go, I would find it useful to say, Ok Tiger, in the next six holes, Ill give you $100 for every fairway you hit, and you give me $100 for every one you miss. Ill give you $100 for every green you hit, and you give me $100 for every one you miss.

He hates to lose to anyone, and he hates to lose to me as well. Those times when those bets were placed sometimes turned things around, because he didnt want to part with his money and give it to me!- he said, as quoted by The Golfing Gazette.
Motivation
This great golfer had interesting strategies to motivate himself. The famous golfer was part of various competitions with other golfers, but it was obvious that this was additional fuel for him to show himself and prove his superiority.
The one practice round thing that Tiger loved being involved in was the no bogey. Tiger, Mark OMeara, Allenby, Appleby, I think Duval used to play in those games as well. It was a $1,000 no bogey at Major Championships. Youd play a practice round generally on the Wednesday, the day before the tournament. If you could play a no bogey round, the other guys would all give you $1,000.- he said.
