Fans have huge expectations for Rory McIlroy, especially since the Northern Irish golfer won twice on the PGA Tour this year. The 35-year-old's fans are delighted by his great form this year, but it also creates strong pressure on him.
At the press conference before the start of the Masters, McIlroy referred to the expectations of the public, not wanting to delve deeply into forecasts and expectations.
The priority for Rory is to distance himself from the noise that surrounds him, saying that he must treat this tournament like any other.
Although he understands where such pressure from the public comes from, considering the importance of the tournament, McIlroy is aware that by creating pressure he may encounter even bigger problems.

Its just narratives, its noise, he said, as quoted by The Guardian.
Its just [about] trying to block out that noise as much as possible. I need to treat this tournament like all the other tournaments I play throughout the year.
Look, I understand the narrative and the noise, and theres a lot of anticipation and build up coming into this tournament each and every year, but I just have to keep my head down and focus on my job.
Rory McIlroy a little scared by daughter's reaction
The Northern Irishman also reflected on some moments from his career, primarily the Players Championship, the tournament in which he celebrated. Interestingly, his four-year-old daughter, Poppy, was among the attendees.
McIlory stressed that it was a bit scary to watch her reactions, considering that Poppy is already understanding some things and is maturing.

"It was the first time she sort of realised what I did, which was really cool and also a little scary at the same time, he said.
The next day she went into school and there were a couple of kids that had said some stuff to her. She came home to me and said: Daddy, are you famous? I said: It depends who you talk to.
