Kris Statlander just punched her ticket to the semifinals of the Owen Hart Cup, and she did it in dominant fashion.
On the April 9 episode of AEW Dynamite, Statlander took on former AEW Womens Champion Thunder Rosa in the opening round of the Womens Owen Hart Cup Tournament. With Toni Storm watching from the commentary desk, the match delivered a solid showcasebut Statlander came out swinging with something to prove.
After a hard-fought bout, Statlander sealed the deal with her finisher Saturday Night Fever, pinning Rosa clean to advance. Her next opponent will be decided on Collision when Billie Starkz squares off against Jamie Hayter. Either way, the road to the finals just got real for the former TBS Champion.
Toni Storm, who stayed mostly silent on commentary during the finish, didnt hide her curiosity about Statlanders potential opponents. AEWs womens division just got a serious shakeup, and Statlanders win adds fuel to whats already becoming a stacked tournament.
