Kamilles AEW future just got even murkier, and fans are starting to ask the hard questions.

After months of being off television, Tony Khan recently addressed Kamilles status on the Battleground podcast, noting she hasnt been seen since she was attacked backstage last November. That assault, still unexplained, was reportedly used to write her off TV following a rushed and awkward split with Mercedes Mon.

Now, in a new update, more light is being shed on Kamilles behind-the-scenes standing in AEWand its not pretty.

Kamille joined AEW in February 2024 after a celebrated 812-day reign as NWA Womens Champion. She finally debuted that July as Mercedes Mons bodyguard and enforcer. Early on, she was positioned as a powerhouse, but things took a nosedive when she was booked to lose to Kris Statlander in just her seventh AEW match. That match was her last.

Shortly after, she was found unconscious backstage, marking her final appearance. Since then, shes been absent from TV entirely.

Dave Meltzer spoke on the Wrestling Observer, suggesting AEW soured on Kamille quickly. They didnt do anything. She came in, she had that terrible match, and then it was kinda like They pretty much gave up on her at that point, he claimed. Meltzer added, I think that they may not have understood the level that she was at its really noticeable when someone is bad.

That stings, especially for a former champion with a ton of potential. Kamille also appeared in AEWs Queen of the Ring film, but shes been completely left out of TV promotion. Toni Storm got the spotlight instead.

Despite the online criticism, Tony Khan maintained a storyline explanation during his podcast interview. We dont know who attacked Kamille, and the last time we saw her, she was attacked. We know she had a breakup with Mercedes Mon in their business relationship. Mercedes is flourishing since then but Kamille, we havent seen her since she was attacked, and were not sure what that was and what that was about.

Khan didnt close the door on Kamilles return, noting, When Kamille does return to get payback for that attack, itll be interesting to see who she goes after.

Right now, that if feels bigger than ever. Kamille remains under contract, but whether shes still in AEWs plans is anyones guess.

Do you think AEW gave up on Kamille too quickly? Should she get another shot to prove herself? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
