The April 11 episode of WWE SmackDown went down in the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. This was a big episode, and they had a few pieces to put together before WrestleMania.
During the April 4 episode of WWE SmackDown, Kevin Owens revealed that he will have to take a long hiatus due to neck injury. This took a WrestleMania match away from Randy Orton, who was on hand to kick off SmackDown this week.
WWE SmackDown Nick Aldis was in the ring as the show started this week. He immediately addressed how Randy Orton hit him with an RKO last week. Aldis also made it clear that he was told to remain his professionalism. Then Orton took his time as he made his way to the ring.
Randy Orton said he could tell that Nick Aldis took that RKO last week very personally. Then The Viper brought up how he doesnt have a match at WrestleMania, and its an important Mania, his 20th show of shows, and he needs an opponent.
Orton said he respects Nicki Aldis, but he will have to apologize to Mickie James if he doesnt get a match, because Orton will do something about it if he doesnt get a match at Mania by next week. Then Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga made their way to the ring. Solo said nobody wants to hear Orton whine about not having a Mania match, because hes in the past. Then Solo said that Jacob Fatu is going to beat LA Knight for the US Title at Mania, and Orton will be at home all alone. That is when Orton invited both of them to get in the ring to do something.
Randy Orton started fighting Solo and Tama off, but then the numbers game won out, and he took a beatdown in the turnbuckle. LA Knight ran down next to save Orton. They set up a tag team match for later on in the night.
We will have to see who gets a match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania. At this rate, its anyones guess who will face the Apex Predator in Las Vegas.
