BJ Ray just found out what happens when you go into business for yourselfespecially with Bubba Ray Dudley watching.
On the April 13 episode of WWE LFG: Tag Team Turmoil, tensions exploded after BJ Ray, freshly cleared to return, hijacked a tag match by tagging himself in without warning and ignoring every bit of strategy laid out by his teammates and mentors. What followed wasnt just chaos in the ringit led to a full-blown confrontation backstage that ended with Bubba Ray nearly throwing BJ out the door.
The match saw BJ team with Cutler James against Troy Yearwood and Chris Island. But from the second the bell rang, it was clear BJ was playing his own game. Despite Cutler starting the match, BJ tagged himself in early and refused to tag outchoosing instead to showboat for the crowd and soak up the attention. It was never discussed, one of the Legends noted ringside as Bubba looked on, clearly steaming.
Cutler grew more and more frustrated, yelling from the apron and begging to be tagged in. BJ ignored him every time. Finally, Cutler stormed into the ring, shoved BJ to the ground, and walked out of the match completely. While Troy and Chris tried to regain momentum, BJ managed to sneak in a surprise roll-up for the winthough no one in the arena looked like they were celebrating.
Backstage, things escalated fast. BJ strutted off only to find Bubba waiting. The Hall of Famer didnt hold back.
Walk straight to the back door and go outside, Bubba said, seething. Mickie James followed behind, and the two laid into BJ for his selfish actions in the ring. BJ tried to defend himself, saying, The crowds reaction made me go into business for myself, but Bubba wasnt hearing it. I dont give a damn what happens to you from here on out, Bubba snapped before walking away.
The moment may go down as one of the most raw and real call-outs in WWE LFG historyan old-school Legend reminding a young talent exactly how the business works.
Do you think BJ Ray crossed the line, or was Bubba Ray Dudley right to blow up like that? Should BJ be allowed to stay in the competition after going rogue? Drop your take in the comments and let us know how youd handle it.
