AEW has steadily grown over the past five years, with one of the major highlights being its partnerships with other promotions like NJPW and STARDOM. These collaborations led to the creation of the Forbidden Door event, which has become a fan favorite. With just a few months left before this years Forbidden Door event, the venue has finally been revealed.
AEW took to Twitter and announced that the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view will take place on Sunday, August 24, at The O2 in London, UK. Additionally, AEW will debut in Scotland with AEW Dynamite and AEW Collision at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on Wednesday, August 20. Tickets for both events will go on sale Friday, May 2.
Last years Forbidden Door pay-per-view was a standout event, held on June 30th at the UBS Arena in Long Island, New York. It featured memorable moments and some incredible matches.
It was already expected that this years Forbidden Door pay-per-view was not going to take place at Wembley Stadium this year, and many fans feel the iconic O2 in London is a great choice for a venue. It is to be noted that the O2 has 20,000 capacity, so there will be more than enough fans in attendance for the event.
