Mariah May might be wrapping up her time in AEWand all signs are pointing toward WWE.

The breakout star of AEWs womens division hasnt been seen on TV since her brutal loss to Toni Storm at Revolution, and now we might know why. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, theres talk behind the scenes that May has her eyes set on WWEand people in the company already know it.

I know from people in WWEthey know she wants to go there, Meltzer said. I dont know when her contract is up, everyone seems to think its this summer.

Bryan Alvarez backed that up, saying May signed a two-year deal in November 2023 when she joined AEW. Based on that math, her contract might not be quite up yetbut in AEW, insiders are already betting on her departure.

I was given the impression its a two-year deal that she signed originally, so you can do the math. I have heard the same thing. At least in AEW, theres a belief shes heading to WWE, Alvarez added.

Meltzer also noted that AEW boss Tony Khan tends to pull talent off TV once its clear theyre leaving. That could explain why May isnt included in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament or any current storylines.

While WWE might not match AEWs offer financially, Meltzer believes it wont matter. According to those close to May, this has always been about the dream.

My gut is that AEW would offer her a lot more than WWE. I dont know that, but I would think so, Meltzer said. Long before Mariah May ever went to AEW, she was in Japan. I remember people who were good friends with her, and they just said her dream is WWE and thats still the thing.

May hasnt publicly commented on the rumors, but she recently posted a cryptic Instagram story that added more fuel to the fire. You cant make the wrong decision because every decision leads you to where youre supposed to be, she wrote, sending fans into full speculation mode.

With WrestleMania season heating up and WWE constantly looking to refresh its womens division, May could be walking into a golden opportunity if she makes the jump. The stage might be bigger, the lights might be brighterand for Mariah May, that just might be all that matters.

Do you think Mariah May should take the leap to WWE? Or does AEW still offer her the best place to shine? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
