The April 16, 2025 episode of AEW Dynamite went down at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston, Massachusetts. They had a lot to get to, and that included the tag team titles.
During tonights AEW Dynamite, The Hurt Syndicate put their AEW Tag Team Titles on the line against a formidable team. The Gates of Agony are worthy contenders, and fans had quite a physical match in store for them this week.
This match had all the markings of a slugfest before it even started. MVP sat in on the commentary table, where he provided his own brand of observation to the situation.
Things spilled to the ringside area early on as they cut to commercial. Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin maintained the upperhand as the contest continued in picture-in-picture. When we returned, the Gates of Agony were just starting to get an advantage in the contest.
In the end, Bobby Lashley landed a devastating spear and got the clean win. Now the Hurt Syndicate are still perfect in AEW as a team, and this was certainly an impressive victory.
After the match was over, MJF made his way out with a microphone. MJF put over the Hurt Syndicate, and fans chanted for everyone in the ring. Then MJF spoke about how much he brings to the table for the AEW faction, in the process he insulted Bobby Lashley for being a slow learner when it comes to rejecting him as a member of the faction. MJF brought up talent in the back, and then some scantily clad females made their way to the ring. This looked more like a Godfather bit from old-school WWE.
MJF then asked again, and MVP gave his thumbs up, but Shelton Benjamin said that he will need a little more time, aka he wanted to watch on MJFs wrist, which Friedman agreed to. However, Shelton still gave him a thumbs down. MJF gave him his watch anyway, along with the ladies he brought. Then he said there will be more watches and women where that came from whenever he joins the Hurt Syndicate.
We will have to see who is able to step up and take the AEW World Tag Team Titles from the Hurt Syndicate. They hurt people, and its no secret why they are champions at this point. MJF is also always likely to add an unpredictable element.
