The Street Profits finally defeated DIY in order to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions, and many expected them to defend the titles at WrestleMania 41. However, they will instead defend the titles on the April 18th edition of Friday Night SmackDown and now The Street Profits have addressed being left off the WrestleMania 41 card.
While speaking on the Come and Talk 2 Me podcast, Montez Ford talked about The Street Profits not being on the main WrestleMania 41 card. He said they were on Friday, before everything else starts, so in his eyes, they were first. He wished good luck to everyone performing after them and hoped everything went well for them. But he made it clear, Friday was their moment, and they were proud to kick things off.
Ford made it clear that no matter where The Street Profits are placed on the card, they bring the energy and presence of WrestleMania itself. For them, WrestleMania isnt just one day a year, its an everyday mindset.
They always aim to perform at the highest level because in their eyes, every appearance should feel like WrestleMania. He challenged others to do the same, stressing the importance of always having a plan and bringing main event energy no matter where youre slotted.
When asked if theyd still speak the same way about Friday next year if they were placed on the official main card, Angelo Dawkins said that no matter what show theyre on, if The Street Profits are involved, its the main event.
Montez Ford added that they pay attention to everything that happens before their matches, out of respect and motivation. Watching what others do only pushes them to go even harder, and this time around, they just happen to be doing it first.
Even though The Street Profits wont wrestle at WrestleMania 41, they now have a big challenge ahead. On the April 18 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, theyll defend their WWE Tag Team Titles against the legendary Motor City Machine Guns. With so much on the line, fans can expect an exciting and intense match.
Do you agree with The Street Profits mindset that every night is WrestleMania? Should they have been featured on the official WrestleMania 41 card? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know how you feel about their upcoming title defense!
