Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would be interested in negotiating with Real Madrid if the Spanish giants choose to part ways with Carlo Ancelotti, according to a report.
In the aftermath of their elimination from the Champions League on Wednesday, it was claimed Madrid have already decided to sack Ancelotti after the Copa del Rey final later this month, giving him one last chance to compete for silverware before relieving him of his duties.
Ancelotti has spent months under pressure because of Madrid's underwhelming campaign and it recently emerged that club officials were considering a move for Klopp, who is currently working as Red Bull's head of global soccer, even before their decision on Ancelotti.
Now, UOL Esporte in Brazil state Klopp is growing tired of his life away from management and is already considering a return to the dugout.
It is claimed that, as it stands, Klopp would only listen to negotiations from either the Brazil national team - the South American giants are coincidentally looking to hire Ancelotti - or Madrid.
The stars could align for Klopp if Ancelotti is relieved of his duties. Brazil want their new manager in place as soon as possible and could accelerate their pursuit of the Italian, freeing up a spot at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Over the past two seasons, Bayer Leverkusen's Xabi Alonso has been widely accepted to be Madrid's dream replacement for Ancelotti, but the Bundesliga side's sporting director recently stressed he would not be leaving this summer.
Whether Madrid will look to change that in the wake of their latest decision on Ancelotti remains to be seen. Alonso would only be allowed to leave Leverkusen this summer, whereas Klopp may be available sooner and could aid Madrid's bid to overthrow Barcelona at the top of the La Liga standings.
