John Cena shocked everyone when heturned heel and attacked Cody Rhodes at the Elimination Chamber event and this was followed up with Triple H revealing how the heel turn was pitched in the first place. With that in mind, it appears Triple H has been blasted for exposing the business.
While speaking on The Stevie Richards Show, Stevie Richards blasted Triple H for how the build-up to John Cenas WrestleMania match was handled. He said the only real promotion he noticed was Triple H revealing in an interview that they had talked to Cena about finally making turning heel, which gave away the surprise.
Richards questioned what Triple H was doing and compared it to an AEW media scrum where spoilers are openly shared. He felt that Triple H might as well have revealed the match results, too. Richards admitted he only watched about 30 seconds of the interview before turning it off because he felt Triple H was completely removing the sense of disbelief that makes wrestling exciting.
Triple H was previously criticized for using insider terms in a cold open video for Raws debut on Netflix this year. Wrestling fans are split on whether they like knowing what happens behind the scenes.
Some people enjoy learning how things really work, but others, like Stevie Richards, think it ruins the fun. Therefore, well have to see if Triple H will respond to this criticism in the future.
