According to Fightful Select, Josh Alexander had agreed to terms with AEW back in February. They got his visa situation squared away in the meantime. That means AEW and Tony Khan had been holding the former TNA World Champion in their back pocket, waiting for the green light to unleash him on Dynamite.
Alexander didnt just make a splashhe came in swinging. He was revealed as Hangman Adam Pages mystery opponent in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament quarterfinals at the MGM Music Hall in Boston. Page walked out with the win, but Alexander made sure nobody forgot his name by jumping him after the bell under the orders of Don Callis, signaling he may be the newest recruit in the Don Callis Family.
Adding another layer to the backstage story, Alexanders wife Jade Chung was reportedly present at Dynamite, according to the same Fightful report. Her presence only further fuels speculation that Alexanders AEW run could include some familiar support by his side.
Tony Khan welcomed Alexander to the company with a tweet, sealing the deal on what could become one of AEWs most interesting new storylines.
