Chelsea Greens name continues to trendbut not for the reasons a champion hopes. The WWE United States Womens Champion still doesnt have a spot on the WrestleMania 41 card, and with just days to go, its unclear if thats going to change.
Fightful Select dropped a key update: Green wasnt planned for WrestleMania as of earlier this week. However, there were pitches made, and some of them were pretty intriguing.
According to sources close to WWE creative, Chelsea was pitched to host the show at one point. Other internal ideas reportedly centered around her ongoing feud with Zelina Vega. Most notably, Fightful reports that numerous ideas were pitched for United States Open Challenges at WrestleManiawith names like Alexa Bliss and Nikki Bella being floated as potential surprise opponents.
Still, nothing has been locked in. One WWE insider told Fightful that there is a possibility things could get added to WrestleMania as the format is finalized and things adjust. So while Green may not be confirmed, the door isnt fully shutyet.
Fans havent been quiet about it either. Social media exploded earlier this week when Chelsea began trending over her WrestleMania snub. Even her husband Matt Cardona got in on it, tweeting, How is @ImChelseaGreen not on a 2 night Mania?!
As it stands, Chelseas WrestleMania fate is a question mark. WWE still has time to make it rightbut will they?
