Triple H isnt holding back when it comes to explaining just how big The Rocks return to WWE really isand what it says about the state of the wrestling business.
In a new interview with Peter Rosenberg, the WWE Chief Content Officer broke down exactly why Dwayne The Rock Johnsons involvement matters. If this show is your responsibility and somebody says, Hey, the biggest star in the world wants to come and do this stuff and be involved in this, thats a pretty good thing, Triple H said. It brings so many eyeballs. It brings so much attention.
But he also made it clearnothing about The Rock is predictable. If Rock shows up, you dont know if hes just going to go out there and cut a promo or if hes going to get heavily involved, Triple H explained. Youre unsure. Its a great place to be.
And for those wondering why The Rock is even back in the first place? Triple H says thats your answer. If the business was the shts, The Rock wouldnt be making appearances for us,* he bluntly stated. So when the business is hot, people want to be in it and want to be around it, and right now, were fortunateits hot.
He didnt stop there. According to Triple H, The Rock is just one part of a tidal wave of celebrity interest thats been crashing into WWE lately. It brings Travis Scott. It brings Bad Bunny. It brings Jelly Roll. It brings Tony Hinchcliffe. It brings Andrew Schulz. It brings Tyrese Halliburton. It brings Jalen Brunson, he said. Seemingly daily, I get a call that says, Hey, this person wants to come to the show.
Triple H emphasized that while he appreciates the attention, WWE wont force celebrity involvement. I cant make the show all about them, he said. Im thankful they want to be involved but that is the beauty of what we want to do Its a cultural movement. Its a part of the Zeitgeist right now.
With WrestleMania 41 just around the corner and The Rock in the mix, Triple Hs vision of WWE as a pop culture juggernaut feels more real than ever.
Do you think The Rocks return is a game-changer or just a one-time boost? Should WWE lean more into big-name celebrity appearances? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
