Jeff Cobb just added more fuel to the WWE rumorsonly this time, he did it with five hearts, three arrows, and a carefully chosen photo.
On April 18, just one hour before WWE SmackDown, Cobb tweeted Then, now, forever a direct reference to WWEs iconic slogan. But what really got fans talking was the photo attached: Cobb standing in a New Japan Pro-Wrestling ring, striking his signature pose, while a set of heart and arrow emojis point directly at the NJPW logo in the background.
That subtle placement didnt go unnoticed. While the tweet read like a love letter to WWE, the image told a different storyone that hinted at loyalty to New Japan or, at the very least, a moment of reflection on the company hes about to leave.
This follows Cobbs sarcastic tweet from April 15, where he poked fun at speculation surrounding his NJPW exit. So I just wanted to clear up any rumors and innuendos, he joked. Yes, it is in fact 100% true that the Monster Matanza Cueto, from Lucha Underground fame, was in FACT watching my matches from his cell and stealing them to use on the El Rey Network.
With Cobbs NJPW farewell match set for April 19 against Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Dave Meltzer claiming WWE wanted him for Sunday or Monday around WrestleMania 41, fans are left guessing. Will he debut on Raw, surprise SmackDown viewers, or swerve everyone with a different move entirely?
Cobbs playing the internet like a prodropping hints without saying a word. The hearts may say WWE, but the arrows point home.
