The countdown to this years WrestleMania is coming to a close. WrestleMania 41 takes place this weekend, April 19 and 20. 52 (really 57) matches in the history of WrestleMania include women. Diva Dirt has been counting down two matches daily to rank all 52 leading up to this years event. You can check out the full list so far at the bottom of this article.
Now onto 6 & 5!
6. WrestleMania 34
Charlotte Flair (c) def. Asuka SmackDown Womens Title
The controversy of who won this match should not take away from how good the match was. First time one-on-one for both women and Asukas undefeated streak was on the line. Charlottes entrance was great!
The whole match was great, but the last several minutes were really good, especially when Charlotte gets into her ugly crying face! I was so mixed with this result, and I was actually there for this moment. I knew Asukas streak had to come to an end; it was becoming a bit much. However, I didnt want it to happen at this moment. The first ever Womens Royal Rumble winner not winning the title match at Mania? Boo! Looking back though it is a real GASP moment even for it being Charlotte that defeated her.
5. WrestleMania 40
Bayley def. IYO SKY (c) WWE Womens Title
I feel that for whatever reason, this match is going to be one of those ones that people dont give enough credit for. Especially within the WWE realm. For some reason, Bayley, and likely IYO also are going to be the ones to not get the credit they deserve from these big matches.
I just really wish the build to this match was there. It started off strong with the whole turn on Bayley by Damage CTRL and then they truly just acted like this match wasnt on the card or something. Thankfully, both women showed out and it truly is one of the best womens matches in WrestleMania history.
