Rey Mysterio may have limped out of WWE SmackDown, but as of now, hes still scheduled to compete at WrestleMania 41.
On the April 18 episode of SmackDown, Mysterio teamed with Dragon Lee and Rey Fenix in a six-man tag match against American Made. Fenix picked up the win, but the celebration was cut short for Mysterio, who was helped to the back by two WWE staff members. He looked clearly uncomfortable, and footage from fans in the arena showed him struggling to walk on his own.
Despite the scare, WWE is still promoting his match. Just hours before WrestleMania goes live, the company tweeted: WWE Hall of Famer @reymysterio competes at #WrestleMania TONIGHT against WWEs newest sensation @Americano_WWE! 7ET/4PT Streaming exclusively on @peacock in the U.S. and @netflix internationally.
Theres been no official update on Mysterios condition, but its worth noting that WWE has a history of making last-minute changes. If the injury turns out to be serious, the company could still pull him before showtime or run an angle that explains a replacement.
As it stands, Mysterio vs. El Grande Americano is still set to happen, and fans are watching closely to see whether the legendary luchador will actually step into the ring or if something changes at the eleventh hour.
Ringside News will continue to keep you updated on Mysterios status heading into WrestleMania 41.
