WrestleMania 41 Night One just hit its official attendance markand WWE brought out a legend to break the news.
During Saturday nights show at Allegiant Stadium, Shawn Michaels made a surprise appearance in front of the Las Vegas crowd to announce the final attendance figure for Night One: 61,467. This is a sellout, HBK declared, as the crowd erupted in cheers.
While that number definitely sounds like a win for WWE, some fans are wondering how real it actually is. WWE has a long history of blending fiction and reality when it comes to attendance figures. Often, the announced number includes venue staff, production teams, and anyone with a pulse inside the buildingand sometimes even those without.
That said, 61,467 is still a strong number, especially considering earlier reports from MORE FOX Las Vegas that ticket prices had dipped by about 25% in price from this time last week. WWE was clearly pushing for a final surge to close the gap on seats still available just days ago.
Before the show, WrestleTix reported that Night One had over 4,000 tickets still up for grabs earlier in the week. The move to open additional seating in Configuration Two at Allegiant Stadiumbringing the setup to 54,595was a signal that WWE was betting big on last-minute demand.
