
WWE made major headlines during WrestleMania 41 weekend by officially acquiring Mexican lucha libre promotion AAA. In fact, it appears that a top WWE producer will also be getting involved with the creative direction of AAA moving forward.
According to a report by Lucha Libre Online, Jeremy Borash will be involved in the creative side of AAA on behalf of WWE. Borash currently serves as WWE Senior Director of Content & Development and for WWE LFG, Borash is an executive producer for the show.
This news follows WWEs recent announcement of the first official crossover event between the two brands: NXT x AAA: Worlds Collide, happening on June 7 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. The special show will feature stars from both WWE and AAA, marking the start of a new era of collaboration.
In a press release, WWE revealed that the deal was made in partnership with Fillip, a sports and entertainment company based in Mexico. If everything goes as planned, the acquisition is expected to be finalized by the third quarter of 2025, depending on standard closing requirements.
This move is part of WWEs bigger plan to grow its global presence by teaming up with regional wrestling promotions. Buying AAA isnt just about owning more contentits also about mixing styles and attracting fans from both sides. With Jeremy Borash now involved creatively, it shows WWE is serious about helping AAA grow, treating it as an important part of its expanding wrestling family.
