Reigning Saudi Pro League champions Al Hilal are preparing a package in excess of 275m (235m) to sign Barcelona's star forward Raphinha this summer, reports in Spain claim.
The Brazilian winger has toppled a pile of records during a campaign which has seen him rack up a staggering haul of 30 goals and 23 assists across 49 club games. Raphinha's output has been a case of quality as well as quantity. Just last week, Barcelona's vice-captain converted a 98th-minute winner against Celta Vigo to wrap one hand around the La Liga trophy.
Such prolific form has inspired spurious interest from some Premier League giants, but it has now been claimed that Saudi Arabia are prepared to divert some of their extensive riches towards the 28-year-old.
Al Hilal, who are trying to fill a void left by Neymar's mid-season departure, were spurned by Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and have shifted their focus to Raphinha, according to SPORT.
In an attempt to persuade Barcelona to part ways with a player surpassing scoring records set by Lionel Messi, Al Hilal have been tipped to throw money at the problem. The Saudi outfit are supposedly lining up a 100m (85.7m) offer, yet the salary package is even more inviting.
Raphinha could supposedly be handed a five-year contract worth around 44m (37m) per season. This would not only represent an outrageous increase on his current Barcelona wage - which is described as surprisingly modest compared to his impact on the team - but would make the Brazilian one of the best-paid players on the planet.
Before he became a leading candidate to win this year's Ballon d'Or, Raphinha gave serious consideration to leaving Barcelona last summer. Saudi Pro League clubs were thought to be interested in the hard-working left-footer back then, although he will cost considerably more this year.
