The April 23 episode of AEW Dynamite took place at the UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana. AEW fans filled the venue as the company carried on with its weekly programming.

For several weeks, MJF has hinted at possibly joining the Hurt Syndicate. That storyline continued during this episode, adding another layer to the ongoing narrative.

The Hurt Syndicate came out as the second hour of Dynamite kicked off. They had a short introduction before MJF showed up.

MJF brought up how he had some ladies for the faction last week. Then MVP called for another vote from the stable, which received two upvotes from MVP and Shelton Benjamin.

Shelton made it clear that he didnt give MJF a thumbs up because of the fact that he gave him a watch and some ladies of the night. He said the only reason that he said yes was because of MVP.

It was only left to Bobby Lashley at that point. The All Mighty held up his thumb, and just as he was about to judge, MJF tried another chance to talk himself up. He also told Lashley that he would give him a car if he votes him in. Fans were all behind MJF joining the faction, as Lashley wanted to take a closer look at the car MJF was giving him.

Then Bobby Lashley took MJFs car, but he still gave him a thumbs down. That was not the result MJF wanted at all, to say the least.
